Exmouth Town FC face the exciting prospect of three successive FA national competition matches in quick succession.
The draw for the next round of the FA Cup has set up the prospect of a September 7 visit to Highworth Town.
The Southern Road men were in FA Vase action this Saturday (August 31) when they overcame fellow Toolstation Western League outfit Brislington 3-2.
They are now looking ahead to a Tuesday (September 3) Southern Road FA Cup replay with Yate Town.
If Town were to win the midweek replay, then four days later they’d head up the M5 to take on Highworth Town.
The Wiltshire-based team play in the Southern League Division One South.
To reach the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA Cup, Highworth Town defeated Ardley United 3-0.
As well as a place in the 2nd Qualifying Round, whoever does win the September 7 tie at Highworth, be it Exmouth or Yate, they will bank £4,500 and play for a chance to bank another £6,750 in the next round.
The FA Cup is a mighty lucrative competition for clubs like Exmouth Town FC.
A side getting as far as the 3rd Qualifying Round will have accumulated £27,640 in prize money.
Meanwhile, Town have announced their latest player sponsorship with the news that Blackpool-based supporter Simon ‘Bully’ Bull has become the sponsor of striker Jordan Harris and goalkeeper Robbie Powell.
Speaking about the sponsorships, ‘Bully’ said: “I have given up many an hour to the Exmouth Town Football Club cause, first as a player, mainly in the second team, then working on the ground and then taking on the physio role and this seemed a great way of continuing my support of a very special football club.”
Town’s Martin Cook says: “Clearly, you can take the bauy out of Exmouth, but you can’t take Exmouth out of the Bauy! It really is great to see Town supporters far and wide getting behind the club with this sort of sponsorship support.”
Details of player sponsorship can be found on the club website, or by by contacting Andy Rawlings on 07872 174494.
