Safe and booze stolen in football club break-in

Police are investigating after a safe and bottles of spirits were stolen during a break-in at Beer Albion Football Club. 

Offenders smashed through a door window to enter the clubhouse sometime between 9pm on Sunday, August  25 and 9am on Monday, August 26.

They took a safe containing a quantity of cash and 10 bottles of spirits, including gin, vodka and whiskey.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police are seeking witnesses to the burglary and would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around the club at the time of the offence.”

Beer Albion said in a statement on their website that the club had been ‘brought back to earth on Monday when committee members found the club house had been broken into’.

It said police, scenes of crime officers and BT were attending.

On Twitter the club said: “Unfortunately BAFC was broken into on Sunday night. Anyone with any information please get in touch.”
