Exmouth Town FC Under-14s share four goals with Colyton

Exmouth Town FC Under-14s shared four goals in a pre-season friendly with hosts Colyton.

Both teams had just 11 players available and so, given the extremely hot conditions, it was agree to play a match of four quarters, each of 20 minutes.

Colyton made the brighter start, but Town glovesman Isaac Firth was equal to their best efforts.

After a goalless first quarter, it was Town who broke the deadlock in the second quarter when Will Lucas raced onto a through-ball from Scott Boddy before tucking home.

Creator turned scorer soon after as Boddy lifted the ball up and over the goalkeeper from the edge of the area and Town took a 2-0 lead into the break.

Colyton came out strongly at the start of the second half and once they had got one back they pressed on and were soon level.

Exmouth Town FC Under-14s regrouped and ended the game well with Joe Atherton, new signing Josh Evans and Brad Upcott all going close, but a draw was a fair result after a compelling encounter between two well-matched outfits.
