Fire service investigating cause of early-hours-of-the-morning Honiton vehicle blaze

Investigations are ongoing into the cause of a vehicle fire in Honiton in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Fire crews from Honiton and Ottery St Mary tackled the blaze in Springfield Road, shortly after 1am.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze damaged most of the vehicle.

A fire service spokesperson said: “Both fire engines from Honiton and one fire engine from Ottery St Mary were sent to reports of a vehicle on fire at Springfield Road, Honiton.

“The crew got to work immediately to extinguish the fire with the use of two breathing apparatus and one compressed air foam jet.

“This vehicle has 80 per cent damage caused by fire and the cause of this incident is still being investigated.”
