The August programme of lunchtime organ recitals in Honiton continue this week with Richard Lester playing ‘Baroque and Rolls’.
Due to be staged in the parish church of St Paul’s on Friday (August 23), the concert will feature one of the UK’s most talented organists.
Mr Lester is regarded as one of the country’s finest talents. He has played in some of Britain’s most prestigious venues, including cathedrals, and has received outstanding reviews in national publications.
His work to record all of Scarlatti’s keyboard sonatas for Nimbus Records received top reviews from recording magazines and international websites.
Later on in the month, on August 30, Andrew Carter will lead a recital called ‘Song and Dance’.
Open to everyone, the recitals take place between 1pm and 1.45pm.
The church’s volunteer catering team will serve cold lunches from noon, prior to both events, at a cost of £4.50 each.
Tickets for the concerts cost £5 each and are available on the door.
