Space Cats are coming to Honiton

Arts Council England-funded Boo To A Goose Theatre is bringing its Space Cats production to Honiton.

The theatre company, run by educational storytellers Mark and Marie Cassidy, uses puppets, music and games to entertain children.

Space Cats, for young children and their families, tells the story of two very curious kittens – Gumdrop and Spider.

Discover how they find a spaceship while exploring a professor’s secret laboratory and head for outer space.

Back on Earth, cat-loving hippy grandad Houston Collins is a real cool dude as he wonders why his kittens are late for supper.

Boo To A Goose says Space Cats is ‘rocket science , granddad – but not as you knew it’.

Space Cats is being staged at Honiton Library on August 29 and fits in with this year’s Summer Reading Challenge theme, Space Chase.

Tickets cost £3 per child and the show starts at 10.30am. There is no charge for babies under six months.

The library says the show is aimed at audiences aged five and under.

Mark and Marie are Equity members with a long history in the performing arts. Mark trained to be an actor at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts and Drama Studio, London, and Marie studied Theatre and Performance at the University of Central Lancashire.

Both gained Distinctions in Community Arts/Theatre Practice, and both are Associates of London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
