Honiton co-option deadline is just two weeks away

If you are thinking about applying to fill one of the four vacancies up for co-option on Honiton Town Council, you have only got until the end of this month to submit your application.

The council has published a timeline to help candidates and local residents understand the co-option process.

Application packs for the co-option vacancies are available from the town council offices at The Beehive in Dowell Street.

They should be completed and returned to the town clerk, Mark Tredwin, by noon on Friday, August 30.

Serving councillors will be able to view completed applications from Monday, September 2.

The full council will then consider the applications at a meeting on September 9.

Names of the successful candidates will be passed to East Devon District Council the following day, and new councillors will be asked to make an appointment to sign the necessary paperwork.
