The bank holiday and regatta weekend in Sidmouth will get off to a flyer when an air extravaganza takes place above the town on Friday, August 23.
Timings of the air show have been announced today – with huge crows expected to descend on The Esplanade to marvel at performances from five different display teams.
And visitors and residents are being asked to give generously so that the Red Arrows can return to Sidmouth in 2020.
Collectors are also still being sought for August 23.
The RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire, Strikemaster Jets Pair and RAF Chinook will all be taking part, along with the Twirlybatics Team in their popular Pitts Special biplane.
The display is set to start at 6pm and will promise more than an hour of aerial action.
The Sidmouth Air Display 2019 timetable

6.20pm – Twirlybatics Pitts Special biplane aerobatic display

The Red Arrows have graced Sidmouth’s skies for an annual extravaganza in recent years, but will be touring the USA this time around.
Sidmouth Town Council has organised the event to give residents and visitors an extra highlight over the Regatta Weekend.
“To enable the event to continue with the participation of teams, including the Red Arrows in 2020, the event relies on generous donations and sponsorship and collections on the day from the viewing locations are key to this,” said a Sidmouth Town Council spokesperson.
“To support the event, official collectors are being recruited to assist in gathering donations from the public across the seafront and Connaught Gardens through collection buckets.”
Collectors are still needed from 4pm to 7.30pm.
