Money expert gives Exmouth RNLI £1,000 and praises volunteers

A money expert has presented Exmouth RNLI with £1,000 and praised the volunteers for the dangerous job they do.

Chris Harris-Deane, director of investment management at Charles Stanley, in Exeter, handed over the donation during a tour of the Queen’s Drive lifeboat station.

The donation will be used to raise further funds for the sea safety charity by sponsoring the town’s fireworks display in November, an event organised by Exmouth RNLI.

Chris said: “The RNLI volunteers do a remarkable and often dangerous job and I’m very pleased to have the opportunity to make a donation to Exmouth RNLI that I consider to be a very important and worthwhile charity to support.”

Simon Davidson, chair of Exmouth RNLI lifeboat management group, said: “We’re very grateful to Chris and Charles Stanley for making this significant donation to Exmouth RNLI.

“This year Exmouth RNLI will be organising the Exmouth fireworks display fundraiser at the recreation ground.

“The generous contribution from Charles Stanley will be used towards sponsoring that event and, in turn, raising yet more vital funds for our charity.”
