Bowling: Close match for Ladies’ Invitation Triples

This year’s Ladies’ Invitation Triples proved to be a very close match.  The teams taking part were from Bridport, Budleigh, Chardstock, Feniton, Madeira, and Sidmouth, together with four teams from Honiton, who played on a round robin basis.
Two teams ended the match with a score of plus 11, so the winner was decided on  the number of ends won by each team.
Madeira were winners, having won 14 ends to the Honiton team of Joyce Granger, Berry Maynard and Hanna Morfey as runners-up, winning 11 ends.

In the Ladies’ Over-50s match, Honiton played Crediton Yellow at home with a final score of Honiton 30  – Crediton Yellow 44.  Top rink: Y Williams, D Hawkins, H Chambers (22 – 14).
Honiton A men’s team visited Culm Vale to play their  Exeter and District Over-60s Triples match.
Honiton won (36 – 31) gaining 7 points to Culm Vale 1. Top rink: D Summers, K Clarke and T Pipe.
In a close match at home, Honiton won to Seaton in the Men’s County Triples match.  The final score was Honiton (67 – 66). top rink: T Tooley, A Hamilton, G Richards, T Pipe (24 – 9)
The Mixed Friendly match away at Belmont saw Honiton lose. Top rink: R Rogers, M Granger, M Bright (17 – 16).
