PICTURES: Honiton Show 2019

Thousands of visitors have flocked to Honiton Show today (Thursday, August 1). The event, which usually attracts around 20,000 visitors, was heaving by this afternoon.

More than 850 livestock entries have been on show among a packed programme of entertainment.

Highlights have included a stunning display by Viperaerobatics in the skies over the showground. It completed death-defying stunts, including looping the loop. After the first display at around mid-day, it departed the local airspace leaving a heart in the sky. It returned for a further display later in the day.

In the main ring, children met very friendly hounds and everyone was entertained by the world-famous Devil’s Horsemen, who have appeared in Poldark, Game of Thrones and Les Miserables.

All the major businesses serving the local farming community were there – including Everys solicitors, Thomas Westcott chartered accountants and many more.

The East Devon Group of Young Farmers had their own marquee and elsewhere on the showground attractions included donkey rides, bouncy castles, vintage tractors, inflatable slides and much, much more.

Local producers showcased everything from fudge to cakes in the food hall and Otter Brewery provided refreshments with at least two bars.

Local organisations with stands included Hospiscare, The Beehive, Honiton Town Council and Honiton and District Chamber of Commerce, to name a few.
