Become a landscape detective and discover Colyton’s hidden secrets

Keen walkers who want to learn more about East Devon’s past are invited to become landscape detectives.

Local historian Colin Pady is leading a gate leaning and ambling ramble around pathways and lanes at Colyton this weekend.

The idea is to give people clues that will reveal the land’s secret history.

Discover Bronze Age salt routes, the origins of medieval fayres, orchards and more.

Promoted by East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is a Legacy to Landscape Community Heritage Project event.

It is completely free to take part. Meet at Colyton Picnic Area, at Hillhead, on Saturday, August 3, at 2pm.

The walk will finish at 4pm.
