A by-election to fill one of the five vacancies on Honiton Town Council has been set.
The town will go to the polls on September 5 to fill a seat in the St Michael’s ward. It was vacated by Mike Jones who quit after being re-elected to serve another term.
Candidates are requested to follow by-election guidelines set out in the Election Notice.
Next week the council is expected to make an announcement over the co-option of new members to fill a further four vacancies.
Just two of six seats up for co-option were filled at a meeting earlier this month.
In a statement on its website, the council says: “We will be advertising what date this will be considered by the council in the near future.
“In the meantime, if anyone is interested in being considered for a place on the council then they should contact us.”
To find out more about standing for co-option, contact the Town Clerk, Mark Tredwin, by email at towncouncil@honiton.gov.uk or call 01404 42957.
