Honiton Community Theatre Company members were in fine voice in the High Street today – promoting their up-coming show, The Sound of Music.
After a particularly entertaining photo shoot earlier in the week, part of the cast performed for Charter Day. With great passing footfall, the location outside St Paul’s Church proved an excellent spot to raise awareness about the production.
Stalwart of the stage in Honiton and theatre group member Jenny Allen told East Devon News.co.uk the full cast numbers more than 50.
The Sound of Music is a classic of both the stage and screen. Written by Rogers and Hammerstein, the all-singing, all-dancing musical follows nun Maria as she takes up the role of caring for seven von Trapp children in the Austrian Alps.
With a storyline made famous by Julie Andrews, in 1965, this show promises to appeal to theatre-goers of all ages.
The Sound of Music will be performed at The Beehive, Honiton, from July 31 to August 3. Tickets cost £12 for adults and £8 for children.
