Exmouth Town FC claim back-to-back clean sheet pre-season wins ahead of Bishops Lydeard clash

Exmouth Town FC play warm-up match number three tomorrow (Saturday, July 20) when they visit Bishops Lydeard.

The Somerset side will kick off a second season in the Toolstation Western League Division One on August 3 when they travel to Hengrove.

Town launch their own Toolstation Western League campaign, albeit as a Premier Division club, on the same date with a home game against Bridport Town.

The Exmouth side have played two pre-season games already.

They followed up a home 6-0 win over Sidmouth Town with a 1-0 midweek win at Exwick Villa.

The single goal win does not tell the true story of a one-sided contest that saw a mixture of good goalkeeping and poor finishing as the main reason that Town did not win by more than one goal.

It was Town’s 2018/19 season Player of the Year, Aaron Denny, who netted the only goal of the contest, one played on the G4 surface eat the Exeter College Hub in Exwick, Exeter.

The Exmouth Town FC pre-season friendly at Bishops Lydeard kicks-off at 3pm.

Also in midweek action were Exmouth Town U18s and they were 3-1 winners in their friendly game at the Cat and Fiddle home of Exeter City where goals from Tom Preece, Ollie Bray and Tom Bray, saw Town to an impressive 3-1 success.
