A car was deliberately set on fire in a lay-by near Honiton in the early hours of this morning.
The blaze was so intense it spread to a nearby hedgerow.
The incident has been reported to police by firefighters from the town, who dealt with the blaze, at Limers Cross, following a call at 4.16am
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “On arrival crews confirmed this was one vehicle totally involved in fire and got to work extinguishing the fire with one hose reel jet.
“The car was totally destroyed by fire and there was some fire damage to the hedgerow.
“The cause of the fire was deliberate and the police have been informed.”
