A new outdoor training zone is opening at Exmouth Tennis and Fitness Centre on Sunday, July 21.
The team at the LED-run facility have been working around the clock for weeks to ensure it is ready for the start of the summer holidays.
HIIT, TRX, boxercise and a series of bootcamps will be on offer. Some bootcamp sessions will be for girls-only, new mums or seniors.
Pull-up bars, kettlebells, slam balls, battle ropes, TRX, dumbbells, tyres, powerbags, and a punch bag will all be available.
Teen gym sessions will also be running on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 11am throughout the summer holidays, with access to the outdoor zone.
Geoff Miller, fitness team leader at the tennis centre, said: “On July 21 we will be opening at 9.15am for members only to try out the new space during 15-minute instructor led workouts every half-an-hour.
“From July 22, the Outdoor Training Zone will be available for members and non-members to come and work out.
“We will be running 15-minute workouts on the hour, every hour, from Monday, July 22 – Wednesday, July 24, for everyone to have a go at something new.”
LED says the benefits of outdoor exercise are well-documented.
As well as increasing your Vitamin D intake, a varied outdoor workout challenges your body to move and respond in a different way and simply being out in the fresh air releases tons of feel-good endorphins.
Not to mention that al fresco training helps combat any boredom; this means you’re likely to work harder, faster, for longer and push yourself a little further without feeling the effort.
Workouts and outdoor classes can be booked through the LED app and the full timetable can be found at www.ledleisure.co.uk/activities/exercise-class-timetables
