PHOTO GALLERY: Tickled pink (green, purple, yellow and blue)! Colour Bomb goes off in Exmouth to boost Deaf Academy

Clouds of colour and paint bombs exploded on Exmouth beach on Sunday morning as the Deaf Academy’s latest fundraising event got under way.

The Exmouth Colour Bomb set off from the sand in front of the lifeboat station; runners and walkers were showered in rainbow plumes along the 4k route, which ended on the beach by the Harbour View Café.

The painted participants were given a welcome wash down when they reached the end of the course.
The family fun event was organised to help raise £250,000 to build a new Deaf Academy in Exmouth.

The state-of-the art building has been specially-designed for the academy’s deaf students, boasting bespoke facilities and acoustics.

The Deaf Academy is expected to open in Exmouth in 2020, on the former Rolle College site, with the aim of the town becoming the first deaf-friendly and British Sign Language-aware community.
