Cyclist dies following incident on the A3052 at Colyton

A cyclist has died on the A3052 at Colyton after suffering a suspected ‘medical episode’, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Stafford Cross at around 9.40am this morning (Sunday, July 14).

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Police were notified of a single-vehicle road traffic incident on the A3052 Stafford Cross, Colyton.

“The incident involved a pedal cycle which had been travelling on the A3052 towards Seaton in company with another pedal cycle, which was ahead.

“The second cyclist is believed to have suffered a medical episode and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“Officers from the Devon and Cornwall Police’s Alliance Roads Policing Team attended the scene to establish the cause of this collision.

“Police thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene.”
