Extra pair of hands for market?

Honiton Town Council is to consider following through with plans to appoint an additional member of staff on a casual basis to help the market assistant.

Mooted at a meeting held in January this year, the proposal is due to be discussed by the council’s human resources committee at a meeting next week.

Any recommendation will have to be ratified by the full town council.

The role would involve carrying out external works.

Because the matter centres on discussions of a confidential financial nature, councillors are likely to discuss the topic in private on Monday (July 15). The exclusion of the press and public would be in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960.
