Car park restrictions put safety first

Car park restrictions are in place at Honiton Community College, local residents have been reminded.

Vehicular access to the school is controlled for public safety reasons.

Principal Glenn Smith has thanked motorists for not using two staff car parks at the college.

However, in a newsletter, he has pointed out that efforts to minimise traffic flow and make the area safer include pedestrians.

He said minimising pedestrian use of vehicular access to the school will further improve safety.

“Obviously, the car park outside of reception may be used for pre-arranged visits and to pick up students who are too ill to continue their day in college,” Mr Smith pointed out. “Your co-operation and understanding is much appreciated.”

What this means is that students must not be routinely dropped off or picked up in the college’s car parks without permission from the school.
