Offwell Flower and Produce Show 2019

The schedule has been published for this year’s Offwell Flower and Produce Show.

Last year’s event was hampered by extreme heat and a clash with major sporting events.

Taking place in the village hall on Saturday, September 14, the 2019 show has classes for everyone – from flower arrangers to vegetable growers.

The subject of this year’s first competition in the decorative class is a flower display with an afternoon tea theme.

A sporting theme is required for the traditional scarecrow competition.

Other classes include: fruit; cut flowers; vegetables; home produce; home brew; photographic; and handicrafts.

In class 39 of the home produce section, competitors must follow recipe guidelines for a Victoria sponge. Full details can be found here.

A healthy number of children’s classes ensure this event is family-friendly and a great day out for everyone. In addition to classes open to all children, the village primary school is participating in exclusive categories on a class-by-class basis. Children from as young as three will be joining the fun.

Entries are accepted on the day from 9.30am with doors closing at 11am. Judging will start at 11.30am, with the presentation of prizes taking place at 3pm.

The organising committee has already received fantastic local support for the event, attracting generous sponsorship from a large number of people.

Teas, soft drinks and cakes will be available during the day.

The exhibits are free to view, so put September 14 in your diary and give Offwell Flower and Produce Show the support it richly deserves in 2019.
