Conversion plans deferred by town councillors

A plan to convert and extend a building in Honiton High Street to create four dwellings has been deferred by the town council’s planning committee. That means the conversion plans will now be considered at a later date.

The conversion plans, submitted by Mr and Mrs D A Wilkinson, relate to a site at 32 to 34 High Street.

Included in the planning application is the creation of amenity spaces and parking areas to rear, and other external alterations.

Amended plans have been submitted in a bid to clarify land ownerships and to correct drawing errors.

The new conversion plans show trees and changes to levels of the land to the south of building.

Members of the planning committed voted six to one to to defer the application until their next meeting.

It was stated that additional time was required to enable the Deputy Town Clerk to

clarify queries raised regarding parking and the amended location plan.

The district council will have the final say, with Honiton Town Council’s observations taken into consideration.
