Honiton blood donors are reminded that the NHS Blood Donation Service will be at The Beehive, in Dowell Street, in December.
Donations can be given from 11.30am to 8.30pm in the Joanna Leach Auditorium on Tuesday, December 17.
Donors are asked not to simply turn up but to book an appointment in advance.
Thousands of people in the UK benefit from blood transfusions every week – thanks to blood donors.
The NHS Blood Donation Service collects, stores and manages donations. It says it urgently needs more donors and donations to ensure it can help as many patients as possible. Some require regular transfusions to manage rare or life-threatening conditions.
Blood donors must be aged between 17 and 65.
Men can give blood every 12 weeks and women can give blood every 16 weeks.
Check with your doctor first if you are receiving medical or hospital treatment, if you are taking medication or if you have recently travelled outside of the UK. You should also seek advice if you have recently had a tattoo or piercing and during and after a pregnancy.
